POWERPOINT ASSIGNMENT

Set the song “On Children” by Sweet Honey in the Rock to pictures.
Refer to your transcription of the song for the lyrics.

This song repeats itself, so you will need to match
each chorus with a different set of images.

You are encouraged to use original images for this project
as well as original video footage.

ALL INTERNET BROADCASTING STUDENTS

Blogs are taking the planet by storm!
Millions of people have joined the Blogger revolution and are posting their thoughts and feelings online for the whole world to see.
One Blogger who has caught the attention of millions is
“The Baghdad Blogger.”

Consider the following

1. What do you know about Baghdad?
2. Where is Baghdad?
3. Why are so many people dying in Baghdad, everyday?

Assignment:
First, young scholar, cleverly answer questions 1,2, and 3 listed above.
Next, go to the “Baghdad Blogger’s blog page.
Next, read several of his first hand accounts of life in Baghdad today.
And last, re-tell (in your own words) any story posted on his blog since September 11, 2005.

Approach this assignment as if you were hosting your very own radio show.

State your name, the date and state the name of your show - for now, call your show "your advisory."

Then, in your best writing style, fold your answers to the three Baghdad questions (above) into the introduction of your story.

Remember, your story is about a day in the life of the Baghdad Blogger. Retell any post of his, since September 2005, in your own words.

Close your story by restating your name and the name of your advisory.

Post your comments on my blog if you have questions about this assignment.

In addition to the two songs of your choice, you must select two poems to set to pictures. (You may set two of your original poems to pictures if you are a writer.)

Here are the links to the poems you can select for this project.

For My People by Margaret Walker

Ka Ba by Amiri Baraka

Poetry by Pablo Neruda

We Real Cool by Gwendolyn Brooks

If We Must Die by Claude McKay

If you have any questions post comments on my blog page or on Mr. Andrews' page.
