From Kush to Chaos: Many Voices Darfur

At this very moment, as we revel in the largely middle class pleasures of electricity, clean running water, heat, food and MySpace, on the other side of the world, in the Sudan, in Darfur and Abeyi in particular, black boys and girls your age and men and women my age, are being massacred, tortured and forced from their homes and villages by Arab sponsored killers known as the Janjaweed.

The Arab sponsored Janjaweed is committing genocide against the Sudanese people and have been doing so for the last six years.

Many people around the world are outraged over the atrocities taking place in the East African nation. George Mayo, an educator out of Maryland has organized a blog for students to express their opposition to the genocide taking place in the Sudan.

For the next 48 hours, students from around the world will be raising their voices in opposition to the slaughter of innocent men, women and children in Darfur and Abeyi.

I'm encouraging all Hope Media Literacy students to join the swell of voices worldwide!
See me for details on how you can let your voice be heard.
