Excerpts from my Media Literacy Final Exam

Part two of my Media Literacy final asked the question, " What have you learned in Media Literacy Class since September?" Here is what the students had to say, with a little help from Wordle.net. Word glyphs by Media Literacy students, grades 9, 10 and 11. Music by Federico Mompou.

Really cool idea! Thanks for sharing --I'd be interested to know the logistics of how students created their wordles?

    Carolyn,

Thanks for stopping by. I discovered wordle on the day I was giving my final exam. The program blew me away, so I decided to incorporate it into the final assessment.

I modeled it for the students on my laptop, then instructed them to try it on their own. They wrote their reflections in Google Docs.

Unfortunately we were unable to download the flash plug-ins in enough time for the students to actually paste their reflections themselves, inside the edit box.
So I asked them to e-mail me their responses. The prompt asked: What did you learn in Media Literacy class since September?

I'm excited and eager to use it with my new group of students in the fall.

    Thanks again,

    H. Songhai
